Another busy few months at Play It By Ear. We’ve just completed a new updated video for the Corner House Hotel in Gatwick which has gone live on their website and You Tube. Have a look at it now on the website. We’ve also been busy filming at the lovely country house hotel, Gravetye Manor. They were extremely pleased with the video we produced that focussed on their beautiful gardens. We got the cameras there during the late hot spell in September and it really does show the gardens off in their full glory. It was worth the early start to capture the sun rising over the estate. It’s available to view on their website and here at Play It By Ear.

Summer Update

A belated post this one – got rather sidetracked with a nice variety of work. Our most recent medical video went from a 15 minute piece to a full blown hour long documentary! Because of confidentiality I can’t at the moment include any clips on the PIBE website, but suffice to say we were thanked for a ‘brilliant production’, which included some time lapse photography that turned out extremely well. On the audio side Spires Radio continues to grow in popularity with lots of local advertisers coming on board and a steady gain in listenership. Another PIBE radio venture is currently bubbling under – watch this space for more details.

Been a little while since the last update as things have got pretty busy here at Play It By Ear. Video work has been full on, more filming for large medical company (all very confidential) and audio work has included recorded lots of emergency messages and a monthly show for a High St and online radio service. If you get a chance lend an ear to the programme at spireshairdressing.com I think it’s a good listen even if I do say so myself. I also continue my weekly radio show for BBC Radio Kent, if you’re not up and about early on a Sunday morning then you can always have a listen on the BBC iplayer. Well must get back to the editing……..I’ll catch up with you again soon. Martin

March update

Well here we go with a brand new month and hopefully some sunshine to enjoy. February’s video projects included filming a company who specialise in home lifts – all sorts of mobility equipment that whizzes upstairs and around the home. Text and pictures could never describe the equipment adequately enough, video is the only way to show it off in all it’s glory. The company were very pleased with the filming and the final edit should be available soon. We’ve also been editing material for a local travel company and March looks busy with some more medical filming which will follow various workflow procedures. Remember the inclusion of video on your website is no longer a luxury it’s an essential marketing tool! Speak again soon.

January update

Well I hope you had a good January, thank goodness for the milder temperatures. One of Play It By Ear’s video projects this month was one we could really get our teeth into! A dental technician specialising in hand crafted dentures. We filmed him in the comfort of his own home where he combines real technical expertise with a friendly personal service.

In February we’re off to the Production Show in London. It’s a great place to check out all the latest technology first hand. Last year there was a focus on 3D and with Sky now offering a dedicated channel to 3D programmes no doubt they’ll be lots more to see at this years show. The price of 3D televisions is also already falling. It’s an area that Play It By Ear is looking at, it was very interesting last year to attend some hands on workshops where we could look more closely at the 3D process. It’s still a relatively small market in the corporate world but one to keep a close eye on (or should I say two eyes). More about the show in the next update. Bye for Now.
